Love God love people as you love yourself

The Bible is absolutely full of  love, in fact some people call the bible God's love letter to us. But the bible it says that God is love, it says that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. It says all kinds of things about love, it says that greater love has no one than this then he who lays his life down for his friends love is everywhere in the bible.

Love is very important to God. It's so important that when Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, he said that the first greatest and the second greatest commandment were related and they were both about love. And these commandments were not actually in the ten commandments, no, but the ten commandments are in these two greatest commandments.

All commandments and all the bible can be summed up in these two commandments, and they are this, the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and your strengths. The second is like it, it's love your neighbor as yourself. All the laws, all the commandments, all the instructions in all the bible fit into those two greatest commandments.

To love God and to love other people, and there really is a lot to those commandments. You know there's a reason, it takes the whole bible to explain those two commandments, because you really need both of them and you need them in order. If you have just just one or you have the other, or you mix them up bad stuff can happen.

For example, if you love God, or you think you love God, and you don't love other people, you don't actually even really love God. The people that Jesus got most angry with in the bible, two people Jesus actually yelled at were people that thought they were loving God, they thought they were obeying God, they thought they were doing all the things God one of them to do.

But they didn't care about other people at all. You know they only cared about themselves, and about looking good. If you go to church every Sunday, and you know all the bible answers, and you obey your parents and you do all the things you're supposed to do. But you don't love other people you din't show God's love to others you're not living the way God wants you to, and there are some people that love other people, but they don't love God.

There are some people who don't believe there is a God at all, and those people are not necessarily all like terrible horrible people. We call people that they don't believe in any God at all, we cal them atheists. And I know a couple a theists, and they're nice enough people, there are kind to those around them, but they are missing out. You can be a quote-unquote good person if you love other people, but you don't love God.

But the love that they have other people is not anywhere near what it could be if they had the love of God living inside them. And ultimately we know that it doesn't just take being a good to go to heaven. You need to have that love of God. You need to have that love for God, you need to have Jesus living in your heart in order to go to heaven when you live this world.

Even if you do a lot of nice things for a lot of people, you need Jesus to go to heaven. And I think we can all agree that it is not good to not love God and also not love people. I think everybody can agree that's not the way to live, that's definitely not the way to live. God wants us to love him and to love other people.

But also I feel like I should point out you know I said it earlier, that we need to follow those commandments in order. Because some people who love other people more than they love God, and that's not good it's really easy to do that sometimes, you know we love our friends and we love our family, but sometimes we have to choose between loving God, and following his commands, and loving our family, and our friends.
